Recently, there has been mounting pressure to allow gas and oil drilling in this pristine location. Your job is to investigate this escontroversy. What are the characteristics of this threatened ecosystem? What plants and animals thrive there? What will happen if it is opened to gas and oil drilling? Most importantly, how do we balance the country's need for energy with the need to protect our wild spaces?
